The announcement of the winning team of the 2024 SAIIE Student Competition was scheduled for 5 August 2024. Participants had to submit solutions for: Mitigating the impact of climate change or minimising the root causes of climate change in South Africa.
The prize for the winning team includes all inclusive attendance of the SAIIE34 Annual Conference at The Riverside Sun Hotel, Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng held from 14 - 16 October 2024. The top three teams shared overviews of their solution.
The top three teams in alphabetical order are:
- EcoEngineer: WITS (Duduzile Mlaba)
- Ecologix: WITS (Lebajoa Mphaloane & Munyadziwa Tsireledzo)
- Innovators: DUT (Sethembele Ngobese & Sinethezeke Zondo)
