Corné Schutte

Prof. Corné Schutte is the Vice-Dean: Research and Industry Liaison at the Engineering faculty and the previous Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Professor at the University of Stellenbosch. He has been pivotal in making the Industrial Engineering department the benchmark nationally. He was awarded the Kris Adendorff award in 2022, for prominence in SA Industrial Engineering, is an Honorary Fellow and past president of the Southern African Institute for Industrial Engineering (SAIIE) and is a professionally registered engineer. Corné is functioning as the editor of the South African Journal of Industrial Engineering (SAJIE).

Beyond academia, he is a devoted husband and father to three wonderful children (ages 8, 11, and 13), balancing professional commitments with a vibrant family life.
